I have dedicated that past ten years of my professional and academic career to working with the LGBT+ community. A major component of this work includes giving presentations and guest lectures at universities and conferences on the unmet needs of LGBT+ individuals, couples, and families. I am also the founder and coordinator of the Transgender Wellness Program at Central Clinic.

My approach to therapy is insight oriented and encourages clients to develop unique strategies for overcoming barriers in their life. For some people, these barriers may take the form of processing daily stress, where as others may seek to prepare for major life changes or work through chronic mental illness.

I follow best practices as outlined by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).  This means I use an informed consent model of practice similar to the services offered at larger LGBTQIA+ health clinics whenever possible .

Beyond the scope of my cultural competency with the LGBT+ communities, I also have considerable experience working with folks who are currently living with mental illnesses like major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, posttraumatic stress disorder, and borderline personality disorder.

I strive to provide a safe, comfortable, respectful, and confidential environment for all clients. My therapeutic approach utilizes a strengths-based treatment philosophy that focuses on the importance of individual choice, body positivity, and education.
